Lance Downing Headshot

Lance Downing

Dr. Lance Downing is a faculty member in Biomedical Informatics Research at Stanford and board-certified internal medicine and clinical informatics. He splits his time between clinical practice, hospital medical informatics and applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare. He works with the Clinical Excellence Research Center – a research group dedicated to reducing the cost of high-quality care – directing the Partnership in AI collaboration with the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab.

Nick Bott

Nick Bott, Psy.D., is an instructor in the Department of Medicine at Stanford and a clinical and research neuropsychologist. Dr. Bott is the Associate Fellowship Director at Stanford’s Clinical Excellence Research Center (CERC) where he splits his time between directing and mentoring post-doctoral fellows in high value health care service delivery evaluation and design, and serving as a principal investigator of clinical translation and implementation projects focused on improving the value of care for patients and clinicians.

Haiwen Gui

Haiwen Gui is second year medical student at Stanford University. She graduated in 2020 from Stanford with a BS in Computer Science and a minor in Human Biology. She is passionate about the intersection between medicine and technology and is hoping to use these skills to improve the state of healthcare through technology. She has previous software engineering experiences at various organizations including Verily Life Sciences. In her free time, she loves dancing and finding the best boba in the area.

Allen Zhu is computer science student at Stanford University. He is passionate about improving patients' experience with healthcare through digital technology. He has product and engineering experiences across digital health projects at Stanford Medicine and in industry.

Nirvik Baruah

Nirvik Baruah is an undergraduate at Stanford University majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Classics. He is interested in using software to improve the state of medical infrastructure for both patients and researchers alike. He has previously worked at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and will be joining Flatiron Health, an oncology-focused healthcare company, later this year.

Marina Martinez

Marina Martinez is a second year medical student who is passionate about the importance of primary care, advanced care planning and preventative care. She majored in biology Swarthmore College and after graduating, spent four years before medical school working in a lab, volunteering in the Emergency Department, and taking pre-med classes. In addition to working with CARE-IT, she does research on lung stem cell biology and lung cancer. In her free time she enjoys running, baking, and trying to keep her plants alive.
